Danielles Story It began with a DREAM TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE in the lives of others and for the past 15 years, Danielle has taught students with patience and compassion while promoting their individuality. She truly understands the needs of all students and makes a difference by teaching life lessons utilizing innovative strategies and outside of the box thinking. In May of 2011, Danielle married her best friend, Kevin. With him, she fulfilled a DREAM TO FIND A PARTNER who complimented her, who understood her passion to stand up for what she believes, and who allowed her the freedom to fly to achieve her dreams. The have battled together and share a deep and unwavering love. Together they stand before THEIR dreamof a new home, a new chapter, of family. Danielle and Kevin dreamed of raising a family. Five years ago, Kyler blessed their lives and filled their hearts. With content hearts that couldnt imagine room for more love, another miracle, Ashlyn, arrived 2 years later. They have fulfilled their DREAM TO BECOME PARENTS with their children having quickly become their whole world, helping them to overcome obstacles and better their lives. They dream to be part of their childhood, to watch them grow and become individuals. It is their DREAM TO BE PARENTS WHO PUT THEIR CHILDREN FIRST and to embrace the amazing gift, the amazing blessing, of being a parent. Danielle embraces each day and every magic moment by learning to slow down and take it all in. It is Danielles dream to keep learning from her children and instill in them what is needed to be a giving, strong, and independent people. It is Danielles DREAM TO TEACHER HER CHILDREN TO MAKE THIS WORLD A BETTER PLACE by being a part of it. On December 12, 2016, Danielle was diagnosed with breast cancer. Additionally, the doctors found cancer in a lymph node behind her breastbone, which is uncommon, but treatable. The doctors are positive and hopeful that the cancer is curable. However, the treatment Danielle will endure is heart wrenching, deforming, and lengthy. She will soon endure at least four months of chemotherapy where she will lose her hair and face other uncertain side effects. Danielle will then undergo surgery for a mastectomy (perhaps double mastectomy and possibly removal of ovaries/tubes dependent upon results of genetic testing) with a 6-8 week recovery period where she will be unable to physically lift or hold her children. Radiation, and the possibility of additional chemo, will follow surgery. At the final leg of her treatment, Danielle will undergo two reconstructive surgeries with approximately one month recovery time in between. Strength is not an option. Danielle is ready for the battle. She is scared, but determined. Danielle believes God will hold her in his arms and keep her and her family safe. She believes her prayers will be heard just as they have each night for the past five years. With always the instinct to reach out to those in need and give all of herself to others, Danielle is struggling to accept that she must take this time to lean on others and accept the help of the people that love her and her family. Their family will undoubtedly struggle financially. Having just sold their home, they are in the process of transitioning to a new home where they may face unknown additional expenses. Facing extensive treatment days which exceed the number of sick days Danielle has banked, salary will be deducted for days missed of work. With the course of treatment set to extend into the summer months, Danielle may be unable to earn much needed income through working the ESY program and will also need additional child-care coverage which comes at an additional expense. Kevin will be forced to cut back upon work hours and will not be paid days of work he misses to care for his wife and/or children. As members of her family and of her friends, we will ask for your help for her. We ask for your prayers for Danielle as she battles each step of the way. We ask for your prayers for her husband and family to be her strength when she is too tired to fight. We ask for your prayers for her children, so that their lives can stay as normal as possible and that they always feel how much they are loved. We humbly ask, on behalf of the Mitschele Family, to please join us in these efforts to fundraise to ease the financial burden and stress of this time in their lives. A donation of any denomination will make a difference. Dream Big for Danielle with us. She has made a difference in so many lives. This is an opportunity to make a difference in hers.
