God can do anything! Just a few short years ago, this sweet boy, Johnny, was longing for his mother to have a better life, and to just come home and be his mom. Living in the Baltimore City area, he was already dealing with the common issues most youth struggle with when living in high-poverty, disadvantaged neighborhoods. Adding to that stress, was the heartbreaking knowledge that his mom, Susan, was suffering from feelings of hopelessness, negative self-image and psychological problems stemming from years of drug addiction. At the end of herself, desperate for change.Susan walked into The Well one morning, and the process of transformation began! Being a part of the mentorship program at The Well has helped Johnnys mom grow into a responsible mother, wife, friend and volunteer. Through the services offered at The Well, Susan was able to make new life choices, and allow Jesus to be her guide. One of her biggest goals was to see her son get a good education. Up until just a few months ago, Johnny was attending a public school in the neighborhood where he, his mom and his dad (who just had a heart transplant) live. For so long, Johnny came home from school upset, crying and telling his mom about how he was being bullied by multiple kids. At one point, Johnny was so afraid to go back, he threated to hurt himself if his mom made him. Enough is enough! After written letters and several trips to the school to try and figure out a solution for Johnny, Susan removed Johnny from the school. With the help of the director of The Well, and her mentor, Susan started the process of looking for a Christian school. She had no financial means whatsoever to place him in a school, but her faith told her to continue on. By the end of January, Susan had found Johnny a place at Calvary Baptist in Glen Burnie. The Lord provided, through others, the cost of registration and books, Johnnys uniforms and his first months tuition. Johnnys first day was amazing! He smiled from ear to ear, and came home relived that he no longer had to be afraid to be in school. Hes made new friends, and has made great strides in catching up with the curriculum. NOW WHAT? In faith, Susan believes that God will provide the funding for her sweet boys tuition. Thats where you come in. Taking this smart, lovable boy out of the chaos he was attempting to learn in, and placing him in an environment where Jesus is the center, has the potential to change his life forever. Although Johnnys mom prays with him and teaches him about God, having a team of Christian teachers, pastors and friends will give Johnny a firm foundation that he most likely could have never received in the previous environment. Please consider donating to keep this sweet boy in Calvary Baptist. If you prefer, you can make payment directly to the school. Calvary Baptist Academy 407 Marley Station Rd. Glen Burnie, MD 21060. Please note Johnny Stankiewicz on your check. PRAY! If you cannot afford to give, please join us in petitioning the Lord on this familys behalf. Pray that Johnny will receive a full scholarship for his entire grade school education, and that He will grow to be a mighty warrior for Jesus! Thank you all so much! 100% of the funds raised will be contributed directly to tuition expense.
