Sadly, on August 20, 2016, Francis Noel Todd II passed away while volunteering for the Luau and Legends of Surfing Invitational, an event benefitting UC San Diego Moores Cancer Center. One moment he was seen laying on his surfboard, the next he was face down in the water. They pulled him from the water and performed CPR on the beach at around 11 am on Sunday morning. Paramedics then took him to Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla, but all attempts to revive him were unsuccessful. He was pronounced dead at 12:30 pm.
We are rippled with grief as his passing was sudden and very unexpected for all of us. For all those who knew Francis, it is beyond dispute that he was full of life and constantly putting everyone else before himself, even in his last moments on earth. Nothing made him happier than to see those around him full of joy. Francis wanted more for everyone, he wanted to see happiness in everyone, especially the children.
It is so unfortunate what's happening and we would greatly appreciate it if the community and the ones that were close to him, if you could be so generous and considerate to help cooperate with this cause. We are reaching out for your support as we make arrangements, settle his final affairs and put him to rest. Please help us during this difficult time. We urge you to please give generously as 100% of every penny raised will help fund any and all upcoming expenses needed.
We are extremely grateful to those who have or intend on donating. We are also grateful for so many kind thoughts and prayers. On behalf of the family, we appreciate your support and thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Francis Noel Todd II is survived by his brothers Laughlin and Kevin, and his sisters Rowena and Rebecca. He is predeceased by his parents Robert and Mary and his sisters Dana and Kimberly.
