fEMPOWER is a program of feminist workshops for high school students. Founded in 2015, we have visited a number of public high schools in the Sydney region. We aim to educate young people about intersectional feminism and inspire them to take action and start their own collectives and campaigns.
While young people are exposed to a lot of media and popular culture about feminism, the NSW syllabus lacks substantial content about the history and values of feminism as a movement. Students have responded incredibly positively to our workshops, showing interest and enthusiasm to learn about feminism and take action against gender inequality.
Our workshops are completely free to schools and students, and run by enthusiastic volunteers. We want to keep fEMPOWER free and independent of corporate or government funding. To ensure that we can continue to run our workshops and inspire young feminists, please donate to our campaign. This will cover our travel costs, enable us to purchase t-shirts and better resources for our teaching. Every cent you donate will go into expanding this project and bringing feminism to more students around Sydney.
