In honor of our upcoming 4th year anniversary as Familia: Trans Queer Liberation Movement we are launching our #40forFamilia holiday season online fundraising campaign.
Can you commit to $40?
Help us raise $10,000 so we can continue to grow our LGBTQ, immigrant rights, and racial justice work across the country. We need your support and donations to help us train and develop LGBTQ undocumented and Latinx leaders, and increase our organizing community.
The organization has been leading the #EndTransDetention campaign and organizing to end all deportations. Our efforts, in collaboration with national and local organizations, have led to the closing of the Santa Ana City Jail detention center and brought national attention to the challenges LGBTQ undocumented immigrants face inside and outside detention centers.
Familia: Trans Queer Liberation Movement understands that in order to increase our organizing and political power to fight back against the criminalization of undocumented immigrants, LGBTQ people, black and brown communities of color, we must prioritize building and growing our local and national base/membership. We are dedicated to increasing our organizing power to protect immigrants, LGBTQ people and people of color by prioritizing base building locally and nationally. The organization is prioritizing base building work (leadership trainings, organizing trainings, political education, webinars, etc) as a long-term strategy because we know that the attacks on immigrants, LGBTQ, and people of color in the United States will continue and we must prioritize building people power community organizing as a key strategy to fight back. We also know that our work cannot be silo so we must build coalitions across communities, and ultimately build people power as a long-term strategy.
Join us and help us reach our goal!
