The Story

The Fairbanks Four were released and all charges against them dismissed after eighteen long years of wrongful incarceration. The State of Alaska set them free on the condition that they agree not to sue the state for their wrongful conviction, imprisonment, police, or prosecutor misconduct.

These innocent men spent the last eighteen years in prison for a crime they did not commit. They missed things that cannot be repayed - Christmases, births, deaths, children growing up - life. But they also missed the advent of the internet, the most critical years of skill development. They have never had cell phones, three have never had driver's licenses. They do not have homes, cars, cupboards, or food to fill them with. The State of Alaska gave them only the clothing they were wrongfully arrested in 18 years ago.

The State of Alaska will not live up to their basic responsibility to make these men whole. But the people of Alaska will. Funds raised here will be given directly to the men to pay for things like housing, utilities, food, and transportation. Give one dollar, a million, or anything inbetween. Give what you can or feel called to, and if nothing else send a nice thought.

Thank you! Your support and persistence already brought them their freedom, which is priceless. Merry Christmas.
