We are humbly asking for both prayer and financial support as we begin our journey to bring home our sweet second child through domestic infant adoption!
After giving birth to our daughter Emersyn in the fall of 2013, we knew we would want to try again quickly to have a second child. We began trying in April 2015 and had no idea the journey we were about to embark on. Month after month, nothing happened. We didn't understand. Danielle had been pregnant twice (the first ending in miscarriage) but we had no problem conceiving in both cases. It was very confusing, but we trusted the Lord had a plan.
Fast forward to April 2016, a whole year of trying to get pregnant had passed. We began to pursue medical intervention to see what was wrong. After many tests, nothing was to be found. We tried two rounds of Clomid to no avail. We decided to take the summer off of trying and enjoyed remodeling our new home and celebrating Emersyn's 3rd birthday in September. We started to wonder if God had other plans for us: enter a new journey, adoption.
After feeling the Lord's prompting in early November, we decided to pursue looking into adoption. We scoped out a couple agencies just to get general information. It was right after Thanksgiving we got some upsetting news following an ultrasound test. Danielle was diagnosed with Secondary Infertility caused by Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS). While it isn't impossible for her to conceive again, we learned that it will require advanced fertility treatments and medications. It was even more clear to us after this test that God was NOT calling us to pursue fertility treatments. He was calling us to adoption!
We don't see adoption as a cure to our infertility. It's not our fix to get another baby. We truly believe with every ounce of our being that God placed secondary infertility in our lives to lead us to what He ultimately has planned for our family, which is to add to our family through adoption. He has grown in us a desire to care for orphans. He has shown us a new heart for these birth mothers that so lovingly place their babies for adoption in an sacrificial act of love. We are stepping out and answering His call on our lives and are trusting he will pave the way to our child.
Sadly, adoption is extremely costly. We will not let this obstacle deter us from our call. We are humbly asking for your financial support in bringing our sweet son or daughter home. If financially this is not an option, which we certainly understand, please pray for our family during this journey.
