The Story

Will you help fund "And Still We Rise," a groundbreaking leadership development program for Women of Color?

Here's what participants are saying:

“I came away with the gift of connection that builds the fabric of revolution.”

“I feel that what is happening here is the start of some kind of movement, something that is larger than each of us individually and makes us more powerful as a community to create change.”

And Still We Rise" is a project of the just-launched Sojourner Truth School for Social Change Leadership. This leadership forum by and for Women of Color meets monthly in six-month cycles. Attendance is free for the forty-two Women of Color who participate each cycle. The rising demand for "And Still We Rise" is so great, the Truth School wants to offer it continually at no charge to women throughout the western Massachusetts region. But the costs of trainers and materials for such an intensive program is prohibitive. That's why we're turning to you, members of our wider community, who we know value the work and leadership of Women of Color as we do.

Can you make a meaningful contribution to help power "And Still We Rise" and support the critical leadership of Women of Color?

And will you ask five friends and family members to join you in lifting up this work?

In this current political climate, the strong and inspired leadership of Women of Color leaders is critical. Women of Color leaders are working tirelessly to lift up, heal, and empower marginalized communities that are under siege. We must take action to strengthen their leadership so that they can continue to sustain, defend, and transform communities, while mobilizing resources to achieve social justice and social change. “And Still We Rise,” is a unique opportunity for Women of Color to gather, rejuvenate, build resilience and capacity, create networks of support, collaborate, and strategize for the future, in the supportive and affirming presence of other Women of Color. At this particular moment, “And Still We Rise,” is a vital source of support for the Women of Color enrolled and for the health and well-being of our communities.

Please, donate and share! Doing so is an act of resistance and generosity; you are taking real action to support local Women of Color leaders, and the development of just and resilient local communities.

Onward!
