Thank you for supporting our Education Restoration (ER) Nepal Project.
An estimated one million children in Nepal will not have access to education following the earthquakes that hit Nepal on April 25 and May 12. We are collecting donations to repair, rebuild and restore community schools in rural regions affected by the earthquake. According to UNICEF, restoration of educational facilities is a critical part of rebuilding after a natural disaster.
Our goal is to raise $50,000 over the next three months. We will partner with, and be advised by, Dr. Shanta Dixit, President of the Rato Bangala Foundation in Nepal on where best to direct our efforts. Rato Bangala Foundation is a Nepal-based organisation that in 2012 received the UNESCO-Hamdan Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum Prize for Outstanding Practice and Performance in Enhancing the Effectiveness of Teachers. Your donation will help pay for the repair, rebuilding and restoration of schools to ensure the educational needs of children are taken care of, and teachers can continue their good work in Nepal in a safe space.
This project will be personally and voluntarily managed by Wanda Vivequin, a 15-year veteran of working in Nepal with oversight by a small voluntary board.
