The Story

Eloise is a 7-year-old Austrailian Shephard mix who needs a new lease on life. She has struggled with anxiety and bit both humans and animals in the past - but you would never know when you meet her. She is sweet, loyal, tenderhearted, and loving. She just wants to be around you and be loved on - and her new anxiety medication has helped her tremendously.

Eloise has been boarded the past few months by the great people of Wags and Whiskers Homewood, AL. Wags has been a great place for Ellie to relax, get used to her new medicine, and make her first animal friends (a crew of dachshunds!) However, Eloise has been there for months now with not much interest. She needs to start her journey to her forever home.

Let's step up for Ellie and send her to a rehabilitation center where they will train her and then place her with a loving family!

Rehab is expensive. They spend as much time as necessary to completely train, rehabilitate, and then place with the perfect family. Dogs like Eloise who have a bite history have very limited options. She has to go to a center that is experienced in anxiety and is confident that they can rehabilitate her. She deserves a second chance!

Can you help us send Eloise on the path to true happiness? She truly is a sweet dog. Any help is appreciated!

I just got a message from Wes at Majestic Canine! It read:

"Eloise is doing exceptionally well. She was very shy and timid for a week or so but currently loves attention. I have recently moved her over close to the house so she can interact with everyone that comes and goes, she is adjusting very well to that also. We haven’t made the jump to being alone with other dogs yet, we’re working our way towards that.

If she keeps progressing at this same pace I do believe she will be up for adoption before too long."

Yay for Eloise! I'll keep y'all updated on her as I get any info. Rehab is a slow process, but if anyone can do it, it's Wes. Thank you all for your support of her. She's the greatest.

Good news! We think we have managed to secure Eloise a slot at a rescue in Colorado in December! The facility is wonderful and they train, rehibilitate, and then rehome the dogs. If the dog is un-adoptable, they spend the rest of their life on the sanctuary. We are confident that Eloise will respond well to training and find her forever home through this resucue!

The current plan is for Sara to drive her up to Colorado as soon as possible. Please consider donating if you haven't already. We can't wait to get Eloise on the path to her forever home.
