The Story

Fenton Township approved plans to build a 2.3 acre dog park on township property, located off of Thompson Road.  The cities of Fenton and Linden joined this effort to create a regional park to benefit the residents of the three communities and the surrounding area.  The fundraising goal of $25,000 is to continue building and improving this great park!

All donations are deposited into a Fenton Township bank account and designated for the purpose of supporting the dog park.  Donations are tax deductible.

WE’RE BACK!!! THE PARK HAS REOPENED!!!! Please use caution as the driveway was temporarily fixed so that we could reopen the park. More work is needed.

We want to thank the following people who have worked hard on the recent improvements to the park: Fenton City Council Members Pat Lockwood & Nancy Draves, Fenton Township Supervisor Bob Krug, Fenton Township Trustee Shaun Shumaker & family, Rob and Thersa Neal & Luan Thomas.

We appreciate you so much. Now everyone grab your dogs and go enjoy the Spring weather!!!

DOG PARK STATUS UPDATE: Back in November, we had our soft opening so that everyone could start enjoying the park while we raise more funds for additional improvements. Due to extreme weather conditions & the overwhelming popularity of the park, the original driveway (installed as an in-kind donation; no cost to us) didn’t quite hold up as expected. Upon the advice of our engineers, we need to improve upon the construction of the existing driveway. The total cost of this improvement is $20,000. We currently have $13,000 in our fund, thanks to everyone who has contributed so far. We need $6,000 more in order to reconstruct the driveway & reopen the park as soon as the state lifts the restrictions regarding frost laws on roads.

We appreciate you sharing this with your friends, family & other contacts so we can get the park reopened as soon as possible.

Thank you in advance for your help and patience in this joint community effort.
