The Story

Help Delbert & Alex rebuild their life’s passion, Dad’s Restaurant & Beach Bar, hit hard by Hurricane Irma on September 6th, 2017.  Dad's was known for it's wonderful seafood and it was the place where both locals and tourists alike loved to “lime” in Anguilla (awarded Leading Nightlife of Anguilla by World Travel Awards).

Delbert Mussington, singer in Mussington Brothers Soca Band, dreamed about one day having his own beach bar. Alexandra LaMaster, originally from Sweden, then HR executive from Boston, frequent visitor to Anguilla, dreamed of one day spending winters on the island of Anguilla. 4 years ago, they got that life changing call from their close friend Sammy who said: “I’m sick and tired of running a beach bar, and I have selected YOU to take it over, there are 4 people in line and you have 2 days to decide.” They leaped to their dream, spent their life savings and build Dad’s, And within a year Dad’s became a major nightlife spot in Anguilla and famous for it’s amazing crayfish and lionfish.

A huge coconut treat landed on the roof and cracked the center beam, parts of walls need to be replaced, storage in the back has damage and no roof, inventory and glasses are gone, furniture and umbrellas need to be replaced, they need a generator for the business to survive, etc. Dad’s is unfortunately not insurable due to the beach location, and they are going to need help and resources to get it back up and running. And of course, they desperately need generators for Dad's and their homes as there will be no electricity for months to come…

We appreciate all your love and support, and any donations that you are able to give to help them rebuild. Every little bit helps, and on their behalf I thank you for reading, caring and supporting them through all this. Any additional funding raised will be used to repair their homes and to provide food for Delbert's children and grandchildren. They hope you visit soon so they can get a chance to thank you in person and to celebrate with you over perhaps a few of their famous Just-In-Time paradise shots!

We just learned today Tuesday Sept 12th that Anglec will take 3 months to rebuild the power plant for electricity...and then they are telling people it will be another 7 months after that before they have service up and running. Ugh.

This means we have to by a sturdy diesel generator for the restaurant which is between $10,000-15,000 plus shipping. And we need two smaller ones for our homes...

We can't buy the gasoline generators as people are fighting over gasoline and it's too expensive. We heard from Haskins appliances in Anguilla that running it on propane is way too expensive.

It's not easy...
