The Story

Hello everyone. I am reaching out because I need your help. As many of you know, since 3/2012 I have been battling advanced lung cancer (Stage IVb is considered terminal). To date, I have had over 50 chemo treatments; radiation and surgery are not an option. I am very thankful, since at diagnosis I was given 22 months with treatment and that was 45 months ago! I have responded positively to chemo, which is every three weeks. Time is not on my side. I look forward to the day I will not need them any longer.

Unfortunately, the side effects of chemo have taken a harsh and tough toll on my body. Also, I am facing the possibility that, as I keep up this regiment, my body will stop responding to chemo. There are now many advances in cancer treatment all over the world (not available in the USA), that offer an opportunity at a normal life. So when I recently learned of the life-changing immunotherapy treatments, I wanted to know what this could mean for me. Answer: I have the probability of being cancer free! I want a chance at those treatments.

The results to date are very promising. However, the treatment has yet to receive the FDA approval, and for this reason my insurance does not cover it - which is why I need your help. The cost for this treatment is estimated between $50,000-$55,000. This cost will cover the treatment, the doctor fee, the hospital stay and other related medical expenses.

For everyone that has asked, "Is there something I can I do to help?" This is it! If you would like to support me, I ask that you please, please, please consider contributing any amount. My family and I are very grateful. This site will forward all donations. Please feel free to share with your family and friends. I appreciate all the help!

My other request is that you pray for my family and me as we go through this medical journey. We pray that it will be the last battle! Needless to say, I am a rollercoaster of emotions, but my faith anchors me. My prayer is that I can be a living testimony of survival. I pray for your help!

Thank you!

It has been a while since I updated on the changes, so here goes! Just over a year ago, I left USA to go to Mexico where alternative treatment options are easier to undergo. I had a small procedure where my tumor was ablated and then injected with a cocktail of immunotherapy medications. IT WORKED!! My lung tumor responded really well to that procedure. Scans and x-rays show that the tumor is of insignificance. Praise God!!! The cancer had spread to my spine; I currently still have four tumors. This cancer is tricky. I was informed that the bone lesions would be unpredictable and only with time could be seen what response they'd give. So .... here I am, still fighting. Looking to God above, with your help in prayer and support, continuing in battle. In my heart, I know that God can and will perform a miracle in my body and life. In my heart, I feel grateful to you all. Thanks for helping me fight back! Besitos!!

Roller coasters are no longer my thing. After having children, my joy in them changed into queasiness from them. These days, my emotions are on roller coasters!! Very ready to start living a life with quality, peace and clarity; to have a newness because my best days are ahead. Dreams and goals will come to start a new bucket list. What should I include in my new bucket list?

The journey continues, and it's end is approaching. It's wonderful and inspiring to see that immunotherapy is getting such positive and strong light. So many victims will become victors through immunotherapy, me included. Before switching from chemo to immuno, treatments were extremely debilitating and overwhelmed the body, mind and soul. Because my battle has been long and hard, I have been tempted to quit treatments because of their aggressive reaction in me. Immunotherapy is way kinder to my body. Considered newer in medicine, immunotherapy is getting much need recognition. Sadly, it's rise to success is slow and obtrusive. Please know that your help is making a difference and is still needed and appreciated. Please consider helping. Here's a small video on immunotherapy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6d0dI3s--pU
