The Story

Update [5/31/2017]
It's been eight months since I have been employed so at this point, I'm a freelance writer! The immediate need right now is that I need to keep my car. I got behind on payments so I need your help to keep it! The deadlines are $1600 by Saturday, June 3rd or $2000 by Saturday, June 10th. Thanks in advance!

As of September 30th, my work contract as a writer wasn't renewed, so I've been unemployed ever since. Even with my now spartan life, I'm starting to fall off the treadmill in keeping up with my bills. I need to catch up! I'm hoping and praying that even though we're in the midst of the holidays, I can at least survive this month and that something happens where I can find permanent work.

How I Can Help You
If you give at least $25, I'd love to offer you my writing services. I can pretty much write anything--maybe except legal briefs (although I used to be a legal assistant a long time ago). The more you give, the more I can help you. We can talk about your needs and how I can serve you as soon as you give.

Finally, Christmas Day is my very unfortunate birthday. So, if you don't need writing services, maybe you can consider this as a (pity?) birthday gift!

Super finally, if you can't give, please share this broadly and widely. Send good vibes and pray.

Thanks everyone and have a happy holiday season!

Need Car Help ASAP!
Yesterday, I walked outside and my car was gone. It wasn't stolen. It was repo'd. Right now I am on my way to drop off the keys.

I have two deadlines. By June 3rd I need $1600. By June 10th, I need $2000. Fees galore!

So that's that. Give if you can, and share if you can't. Thanks for your help!

So close...
It's been a minute since I've been on here, and that's a good thing. I've been busy writing. If the pay improved, I'd freelance full-time, but it's looking more and more like I need a bridge job.

I went on a blitz of online job applications earlier this month and one netted an interview for a technical writing, with an insurance company. It's more than that, but I don't know what to call it. Anyway, the email came with good vibes, and the man I interviewed with--we got along really well. I lost track of time, which has never happened to me. I sent him a handwritten thank you note which usually nets me the position. I should hear back by this time next week, so fingers crossed and good vibes sent!

It's been going on six months of underemployment and unless the job pays horribly, I'll probably take it because hello benefits. Being plugged into a big company has its benefits and this guy I interviewed with--if I am working for him, I feel like it'd be a healthy relationship--for once!

But between the next job and the next freelance writing, I still need your help! So give if you can, share and RT this update, and keep rooting for your girl! I do feel like something is about to break open soon, but any amount you give will be of help.

Thanks, folks!

Five Months...
This has been a stressful hero's journey, but calling a hero's journey is redundant.

In terms of job prospects, three positions may get back to me, but I'm not sure.

One has been slow to get back to me after 2 writing exercises. I've let it go in my mind. The other two are from my last FT gig. I'm still waiting to hear anything. I received a lot of calls about the positions so who knows where they are in their process? But I'm also not focused on hearing back.

I also applied to a job as a clinical research coordinator, and that is more in line with my past career. A friend's wife works there, so she'll make sure my application get s to the top of the pile.

So as I kind of wait on those opportunities, and freelance work comes and goes, and I feel the weight of not having unemployment insurance, I need to find more work!

So wish me luck as I expand my search even more. I've been lucky that this week, I've gotten new ideas on places to look. If you can support me while I look, I'd be very grateful to you! Remember if you give $25 or more, I can help you with your writing needs. Share this fundraiser if you can't give or have given already.
