Dave Bryson always has been a gifted narrator of his own condition and the world that swirls around him. He's defined by his humor and intelligence. He's demonstrated those qualities his whole life - and he continues to be Dave.
But soon, that ability will be stripped away as ALS continues its relentless advance and Dave is left without the ability to ask for the most basic needs of comfort, nutrition and hygiene from his family, friends and medical staff.
ALS has diminished Dave's gift of communication to the point that he can now only relay information by using his right thumb alone to text or upload his life on his cell phone. It’s painstaking.
There's an immediate and attainable answer in an assistive technology called EyeGaze (click here to see it in action). While its Medicare compliant, there's a daunting series of requirements (Dave being home and not in a rehab center, etc.) that's thwarted the process. Grant requests to over-burdened non-profits can be lengthy.
But Dave needs your help as soon as possible: $15,000 to permanently purchase an Eyegaze unit, software and training. That's it.
In other words, if you pledge a minimum of $20 to Dave, along with 749 other friends (Dave’s got 793 on FB, alone), it’s all attainable.

You're on the YouCaring crowd-funding site because it avoids the 5% processing to Dave charged by similar commercial sites (although it will suggest a donation fee to you that you can change). It's legitimate, safe and reliable. This won’t be the last communication you'll see. Stay tuned for more on Facebook and #AttainableDave.
Please act in this moment. It's not all that often that something so incidental as clicking a button can have such a profound effect - but it does.
