The Story

David and Amber are both childhood cancer survivors who through God's perfect timing and grace found each other on eHarmony and married soon after!
David is a student pastor who has been working and investing in the lives of kids and teens for over 13 years. He and Amber have been married for two years and are excited to start a family of their own together.
But long term side effects and complications from cancer treatments they had as children prevent them from having children. They are both passionate about becoming parents and God has spoken into their lives and called them to become parents through the process of adoption.
Unfortunately, infant adoption can be extremely expensive! So they need your help to raise the money as they begin this new journey to parenthood. Please consider donating to help David and Amber fulfill the call on their lives to be parents. Any amount helps!

Who can be compared with the LORD our God, who is enthroned on high? ... He gives the childless woman a family, making her a happy mother.
Praise the LORD!

We got our home study in the mail on Monday and we are currently getting our adoption profile reviewed by our agency before we print it! After that we only need to send our agency the zillion documents we've been gathering in a file folder, and then they will begin presenting us to potential birth mothers!

It's getting close!

It's been a while since I last updated!
Right now we are in the middle of completing all of the requirements for our home study. There's a lot of paperwork...but I'm used to that by now. The social worker already did our home visit and we will be going to her office for individual interviews in the next couple of weeks. Then we will have one more visit with her as a couple. We have lots to do in the meantime! We have to take an infant care class, complete some online coursework and finish reading the five books that we are required to read. We are still working on our adoption profile, which is very important! This is the book that the birth mother will use to choose us as her baby's family. Last but not least, we hope to raise a significant amount of money over the summer through different fundraising events. We will need "proof of funds" before we can be matched with a birth mother. If only money grew on trees!!!

Thank you for your support and prayers as we continue on this journey!

Last Thursday we met with the social worker who will be doing our home study. We were given lots of information about what to expect and what is required. There's A LOT of required reading, so I have my head in a book (Kindle actually) every chance I get. I've read three 250+ page books in a week! I'm motivated. Haha. I will be contacting the social worker to set up her first visit for when we get back from visiting my parents in Wisconsin. In the meantime, we will keep reading and filling out more paperwork! We are also working on our adoption profile and continuing to get our house ready for a baby.
Home study process will take 2-3 months, but once it's complete we will be able to become "active" clients waiting to be matched with a birth mother!

Thank you for your support and prayers! We are so grateful!
