The Story

David was diagnosed at birth with CF. Though we have fought and worked hard as a family to keep David healthy, he has struggled. He has been admitted into the hospital 12 times in 5 years to endure antibiotic chemotherapy aka a tune-up.
Our family works hard to provide for all of David's needs and to make his life as good as possible.
Over the last few years, the number of admissions has increased to 3 to 4 each year.  Very often, friends and family will ask how they can help. Truth be told, while we manage life well, the costs of CF are never ending. Each year there are deductibles and out of pocket expenses for medical care (we have met the out of pocket expense cap EVERY year since he has been born), ancillary hospital costs like: dinner for the rest of the family, travel costs back and forth to the hospital, time off from work.
We always need prayer but some also want to help in a tangible way, this fundraising site is a means to do that.
The funds from this site will be used to provide help for our family in those tough times and even little blessings for David.
We appreciate the love that is poured out on our family by those around us.

David was readmitted on January 11th for another 14 day stay.  He was struggling to breathe and his pulmonary function was down to 77%. After two bronchiallavages and a few weeks of healing, we are pleased to report that David's pulmonary function is back up to 105%!! This is a miracle!! David is home now and doing well.
We also received confirmation that his new medication will be sent on Thursday! !
Thank you for your support. God never said it would be easy, He said its possible.

We were able to enjoy 12 days of freedom from 17 days of iv antibiotics. We were supposed to receive inhaled Colistin for home use but it hasn't been approved by the insurance and the right hand has no idea what the left hand is doing.
David is having a bit of struggle with breathing and was out of breath pretty quickly after some light physical therapy today.  We will reevaluate him Tuesday.
We have reached out to congressman Ted Yoho's office to help us with the fight for his meds... one thing I will never understand is why it has to be this way... we shouldn't have to fight so hard for people who truly need help.
Please keep our family in your prayers.

David is in the middle of his 12th admission. Today, we noticed that he was sad. He cried with his head down on the hospital table saying that he just wanted to go home and that he didn't think he was ever going to be able to go home. Our hearts broke for him and while we spoke words of encouragement, it was hard because only moments before, a conversation with the doctor told us that without a miracle,  we will be there AT LEAST 14 days.
This time in addition to the usual achromobacter, he has another bacteria AND the rhinovirus... his body is really fighting hard.
For several months he has been asking for a car wash. Today, one of the patient care techs came and told us that she found one at ToysRUs and that she called them to confirm they have it in stock.
Tomorrow we will be giving him a car wash and making his day :-)
Thank you for helping our family. Your kindness makes it possible for us to do things like this spur of the moment.
