The Story

Cameron (17) and Dalton (11) Hammonds are two of the most caring and unselfish young men,  just like their entire family.  These brothers had just finished cleaning their rooms January 2, 2018 and taking their no longer needed items to Goodwill.  On their way home Cameron and Dalton were in a horrific car accident.  Both had such significant injuries that they needed to be airlifted to Carolinas Medical Center Hospital (CMC) in Charlotte, NC.

Cameron has had to have 3 surgeries so far for internal injuries in addition to a broken leg, hip, collar bone and ribs.  Dalton has had surgery on his knee and has a broken wrist, ribs and a collapsed lung.  These young men may need additional surgeries and will continue to need ongoing help to recover from this accident. When Cameron was able to come off of the ventilator his very first question was to make sure his younger brother Dalton was ok.  These brothers are some of finest young men that you will have the opportunity to know.

This family needs your help!  They always put other before themselves, just like they were the day of the accident.  Not only is the family experiencing unexpected medical expenses, but Darren Hammonds (their dad) was laid off from work this week.  Please help relieve the financial burden this family is experiencing and keep this family in your thoughts and prayers.  All money raised will assist with expenses as they arise from this terrible accident.  They are always helping others and now they need our help!

It has been a good week for the Hammonds boys.  Dalton did great in rehab and was able to come home.  Cameron moved to rehab and could possibly come home next week. And to top it off, Darren received a job offer!

Now that we have a definite goal we are working towards, I have updated the site.  Please continue to share their story with your friends and family.

Thanks to everyone who has donated, shared and prayed for this wonderful family!
