Posted on February 21, 2017Tomorrow is Emily's 16th birthday. I have the ribbon that she wore every year to school when it was her birthday. The picture with this update was the morning of her 15th birthday. Never would I have imagined that would be the last birthday I celebrated with her. She LOVED celebrating her birthday. I remember so vividly how excited she was last year the morning of her birthday. When she was little, she had a beautiful pink dress that she wore to school on her birthday. She was never one to be as excited about the gifts, but more about family being together to celebrate. Thank you so much to those who have shared and donated to this cause. I ask that you share it one more time. Please pray for our family this week.

Posted on February 1, 2017February 1 update. Three weeks from today will be Emily's Sweet 16. Honestly, it seems as each day gets closer, the pain gets worse. We should be planning her Sweet Sixteen birthday party, a celebration with all of her family and friends. I'm sure a huge level of Fall Out Boy and Panic! at the Disco would be involved. Instead, here we are, trying to raise funds to make a donation in her honor, her memory to a cause that she loved, the animal shelter. The closer we get to the goal, the realization comes that while this is an awesome cause, it will not help our pain. It will however, give us a goal, and give us a reason to get up and fight and support for a cause that Emily wanted to do while she was alive. Thank you so much to those who have already given. The donations mean the world to us. I ask that you please continue to share this. Please continue to keep our family in your prayers. Also, remember to love each other, be kind to each other and remember that at any given second, your life can be forever changed. Never take a moment for granted.

Posted on January 20, 2017It is 4 1/2 weeks until Emily's sweet sixteen. The anticipation of it is gut wrenching. I am humbled by the donations so far in honor of our angel in heaven. This would have truly meant the world to her and I wish I could see her face when we are able to present this money to the animal shelter in her honor. The picture posted today was Emily last year on her birthday when we visited the animal shelter to give the animals love and attention. That is what she wanted for her birthday. Thank you all so much for your continued prayers and for your continued support to make this happen in her honor.
