Help Danielle adopt a child!
Danielle is a dedicated activist, professional trade worker, cat-mom, daughter, sister and friend of many, currently residing in Chicago. In her 35 years she has lived a life of service to others - working on issues from women's rights, to anti-war activism, international solidarity work, prison abolition, and direct, mutual aid initiatives - and she is happily seeking to expand her family and community to include a young child in need of a home.
A lifelong Illinois resident, Danielle is seeking to adopt a child from the Chicago area, so that they may have similar backgrounds. She is not looking for a baby, rather a young person around 7-10 years of age. Due to the often difficult nature of having lived in and then be removed from a neglectful or abusive home, the child in question may or may not have experienced a range of trauma. Luckily, Danielle is gainfully employed and insured, and will be able to provide for any mental health needs the child may have; any funds raised which remain after adoption costs are met, will be used to pay for mental health treatment to aid in not only the transition to adoptive care, but also potential past trauma.
Adoptions take time, and can be expensive. The bulk of this campaign will be to address fees and costs associated with the myriad of legal steps involved in the adoption process.
Please help make Danielle's wish of becoming a parent come true!
