The Story

Friends near and far, we can come together to meet the needs of Danielle and her family as we wage a war standing beside her as an army.

Danielle was recently diagnosed with Stage IV pancreatic cancer.  She is currently in the midst of working with a team of medical professionals to plan her treatment.  Although it is a new diagnosis, her medical bills are already piling up.  The co-pay for the biopsy was over $1500.

She needs our help.  We want her to focus her energy on her treatment and her healing, *not* her finances.  Please give whatever you're able to help our Danielle through this challenging time.

Hello to all of Danielle's loved ones!
It's been a while since the last update here!
Danielle has completed 16 rounds of chemo since May like a champ. She sets up an alter of all the special things folks have sent to sustain her at each chemo session.
Danielle is blessed with an awesome primary support team consisting of her Mom, Dad, brother, son, and daughter-in-law to be (Keenan is engaged!!!).  In between chemo treatments she has had plenty of loving visitors and has been able to go on outings with support.  She had a wonderful Christmas with Keenan, Kailyn (Keenan's fiancee) and Kailyn's family.  It was wonderful for Danielle to get to know her new extended family!

In addition to Keenan getting engaged, he has also moved closer to his mama, now living in Las Vegas.  Danielle has also rejoiced in spending plenty of time with "her girls", Alexis, Taylor, and Charlotte.

Recent scans revealed varied news.  The good news: the pulmonary embolism in her lungs is gone!  The not so good news:  the tumors have grown and as a result, her chemo regimen will change to three weeks on, one week off (it was previously, one week on, one week off).  Also not so good news: she will lose her hair with this chemo regimen.  However, we know Danielle will rock a turban or head scarf.  :)  With hope, the new regiment will knock back those tumors and give her more time.

Along with difficult health news, her health insurance premiums and co-pays have increased.  An MRI she had to get earlier this week cost her $1800 (her co-pay!!).  With this is consideration, it's time to raise some more money for our girl to eliminate the financial stress of this situation.  She has enough on her mind!  Please share far and wide....let's help our girl.

Danielle has had two rounds of chemo. The first round was extremely rough - she became severely dehydrated due to the vomiting and was hospitalized to treat the dehydration and side effects from the chemo. It took her about two weeks just to recover from that first treatment.

Her second round has gone better. They adjusted the cocktail and she seemed to tolerate it better than the initial mix. That being said, hydration and nutrition are an ongoing struggle due to lack of appetite.

Thanks to donations of frequent flyer miles, her kids have been able to visit her.

Danielle's monthly bills are astronomical. In addition to her monthly insurance payment, her co-pays are through the roof. She is currently not working and the income from her job stops in a few days.

Every donation has helped Danielle, no matter how small. If you are willing/able, please consider helping out D and her family by donating to her fundraiser. If you have frequent flyer miles that you are willing to donate, that would also be extremely helpful , as we are currently tapped out.

Thanks for the love you are sending to Danielle. She feels it.

Hello everyone!  Here is the latest update from Danielle's caring bridge page, updated by her parents (

"A quick update: Danielle was discharged to home care yesterday afternoon after 5 days in the hospital. She's resting comfortably at the moment, hanging in the family room with her brother Matthew, who is here from Baltimore for a while. We really appreciate everyone's concern (and the generous donations in support of her from so many).
She's had a tough week.
We have to compliment all of the staff at the Kaiser hospital here in Antioch for their excellent, compassionate care.
Again, thank you all."
