Dan and I met 13 years ago and have been married for 10. Just over 6 years ago we felt that it was time to start our family, but we were faced with infertility, something that we never thought we would deal with, as I'm sure most people don't. The first 5 years were really hard on us. We did surgery and several rounds of IUI. Decisions past that point started to become overwhelming. We talked about many different options, but always felt frozen...like we just couldn't commit. So we backed off for a while and focused on each other and the beautiful life that we had already been given.
However, our dream of having a baby never left us. It started to become clear that God's plan for us would lead us down a road neither of us ever dreamed of as He nudged us (sometimes pushed us) towards adoption. We have become excited about the prospect of growing our family through adoption. To give this little one a name, and a family, and to call him or her ours.
We both feel blessed by the time we've had to learn each other on a much deeper level and build such a strong relationship and foundation for our future family. In these last years our faith has been tested and stretched and strengthened. God's grace has poured over us and our lives in such an incredible way and now He is asking us to step out in faith. If there is one thing we've learned in the last 6 years, it's that God makes beautifully exquisite things out of brokenness and pain, and we are so excited to watch this part of our story unfold as we set out on this adventure to bring our baby home!
I'm sure you are aware that adoption is quite expensive. So we are asking for your help! Any amount we receive through donation will be such a huge blessing, but if you are unable to help financially, you can still help by sharing our story and joining us in prayer! ...Prayer for us, for this journey, for the people God continues to place in our lives, for the expectant mother who is choosing life, and making such a courageous decision in allowing us to be the family for her little one, and for the health and safety of our baby!
We are so thankful for the love and support we've had this far and cannot wait to share in this journey with you! Thank you from the bottoms of our hearts for taking the time to read our story and for your love!
