Protection for All Movement is an undocumented-led group of Chicago volunteers organizing to raise funds for the renewal fees of DACA recipients. Our goal is to help DACA recipients who currently qualify for renewal, but do not have the funds, to cover the renewal fee of $495.
Illinois has just over 10,000 people who need to renew their DACA by October 5th. At $495 each for just renewal fees, that's at least $4.95 million dollars.
Your donation allows current DACA recipients facing this SUDDEN financial hardship to apply for renewal of a two-year work authorization permit and reprieve from deportation. If DACA recipients are unable to raise the necessary funds by October 5th (LESS THAN A MONTH!), they are highly likely to be terminated from their jobs, face risk of homelessness and an increased risk of deportation. Many DACA recipients financially contribute to their families in addition to supporting themselves and this is likely to create further financial burden on their families as well!
All funds raised will ONLY go towards application processing fees of DACA applications!
While we do not know what the future holds in terms of legislation for DACA recipients, your donation will decrease the sudden financial hardship of DACAmented people trying to find $500 or more in less than a month!
- Only DACA-eligible people whose permit that expires between today and March 5th need to apply for renewal by October 5th and will be considered for this funding opportunity.
- If you are looking for financial assistance for processing fees, we will have information shortly on how to access this fund and in addition to dates and times for DACA renewal clinics.
- Midwest region residents will be given priority for DACA renewal funding at this time.
