Connor is a fun, loving and compassionate 12 year old. He started 6th grade this year. He was diagnosed with Convulsive Syncope back in August of 2014. Then in October 2016, he was diagnosed with P.O.T.S. Unfortunately he has only been able to spend a handful of days in school this year. Connor LOVES school. Mainly because of his love for playing his violin and seeing his friends. He is currently doing a program through our school district. It is called "Home/hospital tutoring". He has been given 16 weeks to adjust to this new diagnoses and meds that come along with it. This is wonderful. The only problem that we have now is trying to get him back in school with his friends. He is eager for this to happen. With his two conditions, his brain basically doesn't get enough blood. This causes him to get bad headaches, dizzy/fainting spells and potentially seizures. All of this is random. We have no way to predict these episodes. This means Connor has to spend 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with good old, Mom (me). While I like to believe that he really enjoys his time with me, he will eventually long for some sort of independence. He would also love to be able to attend school/orchestra. This is where you all come in! Connor has been given approval through the school district, to have a service dog on campus!! (Amazing right?) The kicker is, this is a very expensive measure. One we simple can't afford on our own.
If we are able to raise the money, Connor will be allowed to go back to school! He will be able to go over to his friends house without having me tag along! He may even be able to move out one day! Or possibly drive! This dog is worth every single penny. He has dreams. He wants to be a pediatric neurologist so he can help kids with problems like he has. I am not sure I can homeschool a Doctor!
If you are able to donate, even just $5.00, we would be forever grateful. Thank you for taking the time to learn about our son. Thank you for even considering this. I wish you all a blessed day!
