The Story

Our dear friend Coni has amused and amazed us for years.  Her writing shows her heart, her life and her loves (stitching, Stewey and Jeffrey Dean Morgan).

Now it is our turn to support her.  Most of us are virtual friends who can't pop over to help Coni pack, drive her to appointments, or bring her a pie.  But we can spare something to help with the medical expenses, healthy food, and tempting threads and fabrics for therapeutic stitching.

I checked with Coni before I started this and it was my idea.  I am sure she would never have asked us for help.  But friends help friends!

All the funds go to her (except for the payment processing fees).

Today marks the anniversary of Coni picking puppy Stewey and it is a hard day for our Spinster Stitcher.  I know she appreciates our good wishes.  Thank you all for your support.

Our favourite Spinster Stitcher starts and finishes her first stitching at Chez Spinster 2.0 with an important message for all of us (and for herself!)  Please visit her blog for details; meanwhile, Stitch every day!  As always, I admire her strength and courage to stitch through her pain and to write with humour!

Although the big move to CS2 went smoothly, all is not well in Spinster-land.  Yesterday Coni posted that she
"is indeed suffering from an acute attack of diverticulitis.  Ten days of antiobiotics and lots and lots of fluids and all should be well again in that department, and as long as I don't try to sit, stand, lie down, breathe, think, or move I feel just fine.  The pain is...interesting, but the good news is that there was no sign of abscess or rupture, which means we caught it early.
My poor kidneys, though, appear to have taken a hit, and whether this is from the move, the heat we had, the progression of the disease, or the flare up is uncertain.  So I will meet with the kidney doc next Monday to see if I can continue to limp along, or if it's dialysis time."

I know we all continue to send our virtual hugs, healing energy, prayers and best wishes.
