The Story

I am the owner of a 501c3 non-profit Cat Rescue,  Happy Hearts & Tails in Luzerne County, PA. I recently sat down with the city officials in Nanticoke and am happy to announce we are organizing a TNR -  trap-neuter-return project for the community cats in the city of Nanticoke.
As you are aware, there are many unaltered cats in the city that need to be altered. We will be working together to humanely address this issue.  We are hosting the spay and neuter mobile clinic EPAA on Monday - July 6th in the city of Nanticoke, PA. At City Hall Building. 15 E. Ridge Street.
We will be humanely trapping and fixing the community cats to decrease the population explosion every kitten season and stop reproduction.  This will decrease the number of homeless cats born and living on the streets. They will be returned to the colonies they live in. This is the most humane way to deal with the issue.
It will also stop unwanted mating behaviors, cat fights, tomcats spraying and most importantly reproduction.

WE NEED YOUR HELP
We need humane box traps, volunteers, transporters. We also need help with funding for the project. The cost to fix one feral cat is $35 which will include their spay/neuter, rabies vaccination and an ear tip to help identify which ones were altered.

We are very excited to work together to help the humanely help the cats in the community, stop the overpopulation and also curb unwanted behaviors associated with unaltered roaming cats. You can also have your house pets fixed through EPAA. On this date too.  You can schedule your appointment via Epaaonline.com for July 6th. Or email at [email protected] All information you need to schedule your pet is on their website.

If you would like to sponsor the community cats, the cost per cat is $35 each.

We need volunteers, humane box traps and transporters for July 5-6th.
You can contact me via email at [email protected] or 570-262-9987. (DAWN MENDYGRAL)

It's $35 per cat. You can sponsor as many cats as you would like.

You can donate directly on this link OR  send a check or money order made payable to:  Dawn Mendygral and only mailed  to City Hall. *Do NOT make checks payable to city hall. ONLY  mail them there.

Our goal amount may increase. We don't have an exact number of free roaming cats. I set the goal for 200 cats. That will change as we begin our project. Our first Spay date with Epaa is July 6th -2015. Our next Spay Date with Epaa is August 3rd -2015. Epaa will be at City Hall on 15. E. Ridge Street in Nanticoke for ALL spay dates. We will continue to TNR each month until we finish the project.

First Spay Date on Monday - July 6th-2015 was a success.
Next spay date is Monday - August 3rd.

*PLEASE  be patient as we will be addressing all geographic areas of free roaming cats in your neighborhoods  to fix them. This will take time. If you have a colony of cats on your street please contact us. We will have the mobile clinic coming to the city for the next several months.

*****While we are doing TNR, we always come across kittens or cats that may need medical care and to help these cats we rely on donations. We have pulled 12 kittens from one TNR location ALL of them are sick and require medical care and antibiotics. Please consider making a donation so we are prepared to address any issues that may arise during TNR. Thank you for your help. Also, if your interested in adopting any of the kittens ease email me at [email protected] Ty =^..^=
Our first spay date was July 6th - 2015
Our second spay date was August 3rd -2015

***Our next Spay Date is Monday, September 21-2015.
