The Story

Hurricane Harvey has devastated 50 counties in Houston and surrounding areas. As flood water recedes, millions will be in need of clean water for drinking, cooking, and bathing.
This fund is set up specifically to purchase reverse osmosis water filtration systems. Currently, research is being done to get the lowest cost, highest quality systems so we can purchase as many as possible. The reverse osmosis systems are small enough to be mobile. As long as a water source is available, installation is possible.
Reverse osmosis removes 97-99.9% of contaminants in water using a 5 stage filtration process. Filters remove lead, arsenic, copper, mercury, bacteria, pesticides, herbicides, pharmaceuticals, etc. These systems make even the most contaminated water fit for consumption.
We will identify convenient, central locations to install the systems and/or set them up to be mobile if needed. People will then be able to fill containers as often as needed.
We will also be working to obtain BPA free containers and replacement filters. Any questions regarding this campaign will be answered as soon as possible. Thank you in advance for your help! Everyone deserves clean water, especially in these unfortunate circumstances.
