Real dirt. Real food. Real people.
Common Life Church & Farm is a vibrant expression of love and justice that celebrates the Creator and creation. We are new church plant in rural southern Alamance County, NC affiliated with the United Church of Christ, following a still-speaking God showing extravagant welcome and love for all.
We are launching our Farm and outreach activities in July 2018--help us get started! Help us reach our goal and double the impact of your gift! (All gifts are tax-deductible.)
At Common Life, we practice embodied and relational worship. We worship by gardening together and sharing a meal with holy communion at the center. Our faith engages our intellect, emotions, and bodies. We seek to live in right relationship with God, one another, and creation. Your gift will help our pastor and Leadership Team invite people into a welcoming, inclusive faith community.
We will launch Common Life Farm in July 2018 on 1.5 acres of fields and high tunnels leased from TerraStay Farm in the heart of Saxapahaw. We will grow healthy, nutritious, chemical-free produce for our community and local restaurants. Our sustainable agriculture practices enhance soil health, purify water and air, and sequester carbon from the atmosphere. Your gift will help Common Life hire a full-time Farm Manager and buy seeds, organic fertilizers (e.g. compost), and other farming materials. Within four years, we expect the farm to be to turn a profit that will be reinvested in Common Life's mission and ministries. (The photos of TerraStay Farm shown here exemplify the infrastructure already on the farm and the land's productivity. It's a blessing that we don't have to start from scratch!)
Common Life Church & Farm serves a diverse, rural community, and is located in the village of Saxapahaw in central North Carolina, about one hour each way from the Triangle (Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill) and Greensboro.
