The Story

Colton "CJ" Jones  is known for his spirit, resilience, brilliance and his bounty of love as evidenced by his warm smile and energy.  We are partnering with those who know (and whom may not know) and love CJ; and whom have been touched by their time with him to help us to get CJ the care and attention that he desperately needs. On Thursday October 12th, CJ had an asthma attack that resulted in complete deprivation of oxygen to his brain for an extended amount of time. This was triggered and worsened by his smoke inhalation from the California wildfires, and it caused his arrival to the hospital showing no signs of life as a result of cardiac arrest. He was resuscitated after 20 minutes, but remains on life support and in critical condition in the ICU at a local Sacramento hospital. Although the situation is critical, we absolutely refuse to give up hope. We are praying for and expecting a miraculous healing. He has already defied the odds and doctors believe his age is working in his favor.

We need your help. CJ's parents and long time girlfriend are by his side and are currently staying (and going back and forth) in Sacramento where he is hospitalized. Transportation, time off from work and hotel expenses are steadily rising. Getting CJ from the west coast back to Philadelphia where he can be surrounded by family and friends, and provided the best possible medical care is an uphill battle. His placement in a long-term care facility where he can be given the attention he needs is going to be expensive, and threatens to leave CJ and his family straddled with immense medical debt. We are partnering with those who have expressed a desire to help.

Please feel free to give whatever token from your heart including love, prayers, resources, or anything financially supportive that comes to mind. There is no amount or act of kindness too small, as it all makes a difference. We are grateful and appreciative of every single bit. To everyone reading this: Please focus your mind on sending CJ good thoughts, peace, strength, healing, and love. We thank you for your kindness, your support, and your prayers for his healing and his family's strength.

Hello friends, family, loved ones,

Thank you for your continuous support. We all appreciate the love, prayers, and donations that you have provided Cj and his family over this time. Today marks Cj’s 25th birthday! On this beautiful day we continue to celebrate Cj and the love that continues to pour from his heart into the world.

As of right now there are no major updates on Cj’s condition. He continues to heal and rest and grow stronger each day and we know that the support from you all helps Cj in his recovery.   Attached is a photo of Cj with two of his best friends from Los Angeles. They came to visit him on his birthday and celebrate with him just like they have in years past. We are so grateful for the love from near and far that gives Cj the comfort and warmth he needs in this time.

We wanted to thank everyone who came out to the fundraiser in Los Angeles. We were able to raise a good amount of funds and had such an amazing night of celebration with community.    If you are feeling called to donate today for Cj on his birthday we would appreciate that deeply. The medical funds continue to be a big weight on his family during this time and we are grateful for all of your help. We also appreciate prayers or other forms of love and healing towards Cj and his family.

Dear Friends and Family,

Thank you so much for you constant source of support and prayers.  We are so grateful for all who have donated their time, money, and energy to helping us in this very difficult process.  Colton is currently still in a long term facility in Pennsylvania working everyday with a physical therapist and an occupational therapist to help restore his vitality and bring him back to a healthy state of being. His family and friends have been visiting him daily and have noticed big shifts since the original accident in October. He is responsive to touch and communicates with subtle body language to let us know that he hears us and is working hard each day to gain his strength back.

We are reaching out again to ask for help with the medical costs which continue to rise. Each day that Colton is at his facility it costs the family an extreme amount of money that is not largely covered by insurance. In a time of such stress and chaos it is hard for family to also balance the medical expenses that come with such an extreme condition. We know that each of you works very hard and has donated previously and we deeply appreciate that and appreciate your on going support.

We are currently working on building a website in Colton's honor to keep every one informed with daily updates on his condition as well as building a collection of his writings and videos. We are also in the process of building a foundation in Colton's honor.  If anyone has any resources or advice on this process we are open to receiving help in that way too.

On March 31st Cj's community in Los Angeles will hosting a big fundraiser for him.

Once again we are so in such a state of deep gratitude and appreciation for all of your help. This journey would not be possible without each and every one of your prayers, donations, thoughts, and love.

In possibility !

Thank you all so much for your continued donations, your warm messages, and your thoughtful prayers.  Colton and his family are in such deep gratitude and are holding you very close in this time of tragedy.

A brief update: he is currently in a nursing home in Pennsylvania close to his family.  While he is still appearing to show signs of severe brain damage, the doctors consider it a miracle that he is even alive. He is completely off of life support and is now breathing on his own.

Although comatose, he has episodes of blinking and to some family members, he is showing signs of improvement and communication. While the doctors do not believe so, his family are standing strong in their  faith and belief that Cj will heal and come back with a full recovery.  He has started both physical and occupational therapy and we are hopeful that both will begin to make a positive impact upon his prognosis.

We are working to get him the best care possible and as you can imagine this will be a slow process going forward.  Because of the type of care his injury requires, medical bills continue to increase and your kindness continues to make all the difference in the world.

We are grateful for your donations and prayers. We are deeply appreciative to all whom have given and continue to give, and those who may have wanted to and could not. We are willing to do whatever it takes to help Colton come back and live to continue the humanitarian work  he chose as his life's purpose. Thank you all so much for your care, prayers and concern.

With much love and gratefulness !
