Posted on December 19, 2015Recovery is still going well so far. I had a follow up with my surgery team on Thursday. They were very happy with how things are progressing. I am cleared to fly back to Montana tomorrow, as we had hoped and should be able to just continue my care there as long as everything continues to go smoothly.
It is still going to be a while before I make a full recovery, and will also take some time to get used to all the permanent changes that come along with a surgery like this. I know that this operation is not considered a cure for Crohn's disease, and it may not have an impact on my arthritis at all. However, I am confident that it will result in a major improvement to my quality of life and my overall happiness.
Tomorrow is the last day that this fund raising page will be active, and hopefully it will be a very long time before I will ever need help like this again. Thank you all, once again, for all your help. This has been one of the biggest, scariest, most stressful, and at the same time most hopeful, and exciting times in my life and I would not have been able to do it without all of your love and support. Best wishes, and happy holidays!

Posted on December 16, 2015I am out of the hospital. I am still in Washington for a little while for follow-ups and to recover a bit more before traveling. Surgery went well and so far recovery is still on track too! Best wishes, everyone.

Posted on December 12, 2015Surgery on Tuesday went well. It is going to be a long recovery, but I should be out of the hospital very soon. I am feeling pretty optimistic about the future. Hopefully this operation will give me some lasting relief and increase my quality of life for a long time to come.
I will still be staying in the Seattle area for at least a week after I leave the hospital so I can follow up with my doctors here and make sure that I have recovered enough to travel back to Montana. After that I will probably be taking it easy for a while as I recover and learn to live my new and hopefully, healthier life.
Thank you again for all of your support and best wishes and happy holidays to everyone.
