Support The Liberian Quest for Justice
The Liberian Civil War spanned 14 years, during which the fighting factions brutally murdered over 200,000 people and forced 15,000 children to become soldiers.
The surviving victims of rape, torture, slavery and hideous human rights abuses have been living in fear while warlords walk freely without accountability. More than a decade after the conflict, no justice has been done in Liberia. This is your opportunity to ensure that these victims have their voices heard and see that everything is being done for their alleged perpetrators brought to justice.
With your support, we can:
- Continue our vital work talking to victims and collecting their valuable testimonies.
- Preserve evidence for the future pursuit of justice and do whatever possible to hold alleged perpetrators accountable for their horrific crimes.
- Ensure the safety of the individuals who risk their lives to stand up for the forgotten victims of the most heinous crimes.
- Empower local communities to take action in their quest for justice and ensure that history is not repeated.
To date, our important work has contributed to the arrest of 4 alleged perpetrators and 1 criminal conviction outside Liberia. In the upcoming months, there will be 4 trials in 4 different countries spanning 2 continents and we need your support to make this happen.
Donate today and help Civitas Maxima give a voice to the forgotten victims of the most shocking crimes.
