Dear Family and Friends,
As some of you may know, Chris and I have struggled with infertility for the past 10 years. It has not been easy. Through 4 failed IUI treatments, 2 failed IVF’s, 1 successful frozen embryo transfer followed by a miscarriage and 1 embryo still frozen, it has been a roller coaster of emotions; not only for us, but for those who love us, as well. Through it all, Chris and I have felt so blessed by the outpouring of love and prayers that have come our way. If there is one positive thing that has come from all of this, it is that our faith in God has grown stronger. We truly believe that God has a plan for our lives and part of that plan is for us to be parents. Over the past year we have done a lot of praying and a lot of soul searching and time and time again, we feel God is calling us to adopt. We have not given up hope that one day we may have a child that shares our genes, but we’ve come to believe that is not the most important part of a family. A family is built on love, faith, guidance, acceptance and support--all things we are anxious to share with our little one someday soon.
We’re sharing this part of our story with you because we could use your help. We have been saving money to put toward the adoption but the process is unbelievably expensive. An average domestic adoption can be anywhere from $20,000-$40,000. Asking others for help is not easy for us, in fact, it has been one of the biggest hurdles in moving forward. However, we recently read a book that says not to think of it as asking others for help, but to think of it as giving God an opportunity to help us through others. With this, Chris and I come to you asking for support. We are putting our faith in Him, that He will add to what we have worked hard to save to help us reach this goal through the support of family and friends. If you are able and willing to donate towards our adoption, that would be amazing! Even if you aren’t able to give financially, you can help us through prayers as we go through this process.
Feel free to share our story with family and friends. We have no idea what to expect from this journey, but we are putting it in God’s hands and believing that He will provide for us so that we are able to start our family. Thank you for taking time to pray for us and support us now and over the years. We truly are grateful!
Chris and Nellie
