Meet Anya (8) and Zoe (9) and project Sole To Soul #climbfuji
The friends and class mates both live in Singapore and attend Tanglin Trust School. They have trek loving mums, Hazleen (Mother of Zoe -Singaporean) who founded the Amazing Trekkers Club
and Catherine (Mother of Anya -British) who founded Poco Nido
and Poco Nido SG.
These bold, brave and beautiful junior trekkers decided they would team up and join the ATC Fuji trek this July to raise money for children with cancer and children who are being bullied.
It's no mean feat, they have been training and trekking with a goal to reach the summit of the mountain before sunrise on day 2. This means they have to be up at 2am climbing with a head torch for the summit push. The girls will be walking a total of 14km, 7.5km ascent and 7.5km descent, over 2 days, 7 hours up and 4 hours down.
Please encourage them so that they can help children who are suffering from injustice, discrimination and pain.
They will get a chance to experience sleeping in a traditional mountain hut on a futon in a sleeping bag sardine style, with many other trekkers and no tech!
Don't worry, they're not walking alone, they'll be flanked by their mothers, two guides, seven other adults and two more mum and teen pairs.
In the run up to the trek there are various mini events:
- ATC members and the Poco Nido team will be taking Poco Nido Yeti mini shoes up as many peaks as they can find. Just for fun.
- The girls will be guest appearing at UWC Dover in Singapore on the 17th June, at the screening of Losing Sight of the Shore with Sisu Girls. Amazing Trekkers will offer a membership as a prize at the event.
- Poco Nido have already donated £1 for every pair of Yeti mini shoes they will sell -Retail Launch July. ATC have pledged to match this.
- Our social medial feeds will be updated daily with information about the girls, Fuji and anything else we can find to put on there. Including any fundraisers our customers and fans are having to support the girls.
We are all so excited about this project because it is the start of the Amazing Trekkers and Poco Nido Sole to Soul journey. This one is all about Anya, Zoe and Fuji....who knows what the next one will bring.
