The Story

This YouCaring page has been generated to raise money for one of the sweetest, kindest, and bravest women that you will ever come across. On November 3, 2017, Cheryse was re-diagnosed with stage IV cancer. Not only is the cancer back, but this time it has metastasized to her liver. Cheryse is fully prepared to FIGHT again, however this time, she needs your help!

About Cheryse:

When Cheryse was diagnosed with Stage IV breast cancer in December of 2015 at the tender age of 30, she responded with peace, joy, and praise! You might be thinking, “cancer… and peace, joy, praise?” That is the kind of person Cheryse is. Many, if not all of us, were shocked to hear Cheryse’s cancer diagnosis… She did all the right things; she ate organic, non-gmo, used natural/homemade house cleaners and personal care products, drank filtered water, etc. She was the poster child for living a healthy lifestyle! Instead of dwelling on the “why me” questions however, Cheryse decided that her healthy lifestyle, along with God’s guidance, will be her boxing gloves.. Cheryse firmly believes that God has guided her steps and given her the wisdom and discernment to look beyond traditional medicine, do her own research, and seek out integrative oncology, nutritional therapy, and natural supplements. While she faces something that the world sees as so negative and daunting, Cheryse firmly believes this diagnosis has been a blessing in disguise, and continues to live each day with purpose and conviction, filled with God’s joy and peace.

Where Your Money Will Go:

According to traditional oncology, there is no cure for stage IV breast cancer and the 5 year survival rates are bleak. However, we believe there is far more to cancer than what traditional oncology currently has to offer. We KNOW God has placed Cheryse in Washington, so that she would have access to some of the best complimentary therapies possible.

Cheryse will be taking part in a clinical trial through the Care Oncology Clinic. The Care Oncology Clinic has a clinical trial in which they are studying the efficacy and survival rates of a select "off label" and out of patent medications on cancer. Thus far, this combo is proving to be extremely effective when compared to conventional oncology treatment by itself. We all know that a healthy immune system and body is vital to anyone but especially a cancer patient. To keep Cheryse’s immune function up, she takes several supplements and will receive treatment at Bastyr Center for Health. Their clinical trials have proven that their natural treatments are resulting in far better outcomes than patients who only receive traditional oncology care.

WE HAVE REACHED OUR GOAL!!!

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your love, prayers, and generous donations! We are just so overwhelmed by the generosity and kindness of family, friends, and even complete strangers (who really aren't strangers anymore now).

In addition to reaching our YouCaring goal, Cheryse has also reached her Out of Pocket limit with her insurance for the year, meaning that her insurance can no longer charge her this year for anything else! In reality though, she hasn't had to pay ANYTHING out of pocket, THANKS TO YOU ALL!!!

So for now, we will putting this YouCaring page on "pause", since we have reached our goal and Cheryse won't need be needing to pay any huge medical expenses again this year. Your current donations however will continue to go towards Cheryse's supplemental treatments, that insurance is not paying for.

Thank you again for everything, and may God pour out his blessings over you, like you have done for Cheryse and her family

Feb. 9, 2018:

7:45 AM- " I am so incredibly thankful for this man! Josiah, God gave me you for the ups and downs, the days of doubt. Thank you for working so hard for our family and never hesitating or grumbling about taking care of me! We spent 4 hours at the ER this morning; thankfully my bloodwork was good but my body sucked down 2 bags of fluid in 2 hrs. We are headin to my oncologist now to give a few more samples and hopefully figure out how to treat this mucusitis so I can eat and drink again without severe pain! "

10:15 AM- " Ok after getting IV fluids and IV zofran in the ER this morning (my heart rate was a very robust 104+ for5 hrs due to the dehydration so I went in), I met with my oncologist who has ordered a plethora of meds to help ease my symptoms while my mucus membranes heal. We discovered that the pharmacist did indeed have me on the highest possible dosage of chemo because he knew I was young and thought my body could take it 👎 My oncologist said to him “um NO, her body is saying NO.“ So we will wait, if I am feeling well, I will have my herceptin treatment on Tuesday but we won’t start chemo for an extra week and will bring the dosage down to the “normal” dosage which “shouldn’t” cause any issues. My oncologist said she rarely sees this in patients at the normal dosage and was SO apologetic that they inadvertently caused this. Now Jo and I will attempt to get some sleep and pick up my prescriptions in a few hours.
We are waiting on blood culture results to see if I have a cdif infection in my gut; if I do, I go on antibiotics for 14 days. If I don’t, I can start taking an antidiarrheal but we won’t have those results until tomorrow or Sunday so I have to live with the diarrhea and just chug vitamin water/Gatorade to stay hydrated! Oye....what an adventure!
I am so thankful for all your prayers, kind words, and shows of support! I am incredibly blessed to have such an amazing support network! Gods timing was perfect bringing Josiah’s parents up here this week!!! Now time to rest and let my body heal. "

9:15 PM- " Praise the Lord I dong have an infection! I can start taking the anti-diarrhea meds and let my body start healing. Please pray for a sound sleep tonight free of GI pain and issues! I feel much better than last night overall but still weak and yucky from the raw GI system. "
