Texans as a whole, are strong and resilient people. Many of you have put yourselves in harm’s way helping your neighbors during Hurricane Harvey. The news coverage seen around the globe has shown the world how we care for one another and the risks we are willing to take for total strangers in need. The world has seen our resolve and we are not done helping each other yet.
The Champion Energy Power Partners Program assists customers who need help paying their bills. From September 1 to December 31, 2017, Champion is doubling our donation match to the Power Partners fund to $2 for every $1 donated, matching up to $10,000 per individual donor, up to a total of $250,000.
In addition, Champion is donating $250,000 to the American Red Cross for Hurricane Harvey relief efforts in our community. Moreover, we are committed to working with customers through this hardship by waiving late fees and extending payment terms to anyone affected by Hurricane Harvey.
Over half of Champion Energy’s customers reside in impacted counties. Champion, and our parent company Calpine, are both headquartered in Houston.
While we together grieve over what we’ve lost, we know for sure that we can overcome anything and that Houston will remain the strong and vibrant city we love. We will get through this disaster and we will lift each other up to rebuild, just as we have in the past.
