This is an emergency! The chain-link fencing enclosing the perimeter of the whole yard and the roof needs to be strengthened while the weather is still nice. It’s barely holding up now after sagging under the weight of heavy snow year after year. It was too weak from the start and got even looser during the winter of 2012/2013 when the top wire fencing dangerously sagged in the middle and the rails holding the mesh were bent down at one point; the entire construction only stood up until spring. Although there hasn’t been as much snow since, the existing fence was been becoming droopy as time’s gone by and the links are too large to prevent kittens and skinnier adults from escaping through the wire, not to mention that another heavy snow load can easily knock the entire structure down.
While strengthening the chain-link fence, we could enlarge the outdoor enclosure for the cats and get another 30 square meters more, so we need fencing with stronger and finer mesh that would be added to the existing one, as well as the new fence posts.
Please, make a difference in the lives of all of the Felix kitties! The need is great, but there’s no amount of donation that’s too small. Thank you in advance for anything you may be able to provide!
