The CAS Stingrays swim team is comprised of more than 50 boys and girls, ages 6 to 18, who are reversing a trend often seen in disadvantaged communities: learning how to swim. Since 2005, the team has doubled in size, gained in proficiency and developed strong support from parents and the community. The team practices 6 days a week and attends competitive swim meets on the weekends. They swim in the highest competitive division metro swim league as well as U.S.S. (governing body for all swim competitions)
The Stingrays need your help!! We are hosting our annual Swim-A-Rama later this month where we are aiming to raise funds to help lower the cost of our upcoming trip to the National Black Heritage Swim Meet in Cary, North Carolina.
What is a Swim-A-Rama?- It is a fun fundraising event where all of the participants will swim for 1 hour later on this month at the Children's Aid Society Center located at 14-32 W 118th street. The pool is 25 yards long. Participants will earn money for the team by getting pledges from family, friends, businesses etc based on the number of laps they swim. Donors can either pledge a certain amount of money per lap or a flat donation in support of our team. All donations, no matter how small are welcome and greatly appreciated.
**PLEASE INCLUDE THE SWIMMER'S NAME IN THE COMMENTS SECTION SO YOUR SWIMMER CAN GET THE CREDIT THEY DESERVE. IT IS A FRIENDLY COMPETITION**
Thank you for your continued support and faith in our team!
