Howdy and bonjour!
I’m Carlee Hebert and I’m a junior Telecommunication Media Studies major at Texas A&M University. I’m also minoring in Psychology and, you guessed it, French. I will be studying abroad next spring in Grenoble, France and I could not be more excited. I have so many goals academically and personally and with your help, I can accomplish all of these and so much more!
Why I need your help:
While studying abroad is more expensive than a regular semester at Texas A&M, the experiences, benefits, and life skills I will gain through studying abroad are invaluable. However, I still need help covering the extra costs associated with studying abroad. My parents have agreed to help me pay part of the program fee, but I am responsible for additional costs. I am currently working a part time job and interning in a position directly related to my field of study. Unfortunately, the money I am earning will not be enough to cover the extra costs which is why I am reaching out to you. Your generous donation, no matter the size, will allow me to make the most of this amazing opportunity.
How does your donation help me?
Your donation will help me pay for my program fee. This includes tuition, housing, insurance, breakfast, dinner, and more. Studying abroad is a valuable experience that will no doubt help my future. Through immersing myself in the language and the culture, I will become a global citizen and develop both an understanding and appreciation for different cultures. I will learn even more independence and take on even more responsibility than at college in Texas. I will be learning, and hopefully mastering, a new language so that I can communicate with even more people than before. I also plan to take advantage of any volunteer opportunities through API and local organizations. In addition, your donation will allow me to create more content for my blog to keep all my family and friends (including you!) updated on my study abroad adventures. I truly appreciate any donation, whether big or small. It means the world to me!
My study abroad trip:
I will be studying in Grenoble, France and I will be traveling with Academic Programs International (API). Grenoble is surrounded by the Alps and hosts many international students throughout the year. I am accepted to the program and I am currently working on obtaining my student visa. I will be taking classes on French vocabulary and grammar along with a few electives that cover topics like art and film. All of my classes will be taught in French and I’ll be staying with a host family so I will be learning French very quickly once I get there! (P.S. please pray for my limited French skills.)
A little more about me:
I’m a 4.0 Honors student and I’m involved in many organizations on campus. I’m a member of Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society and the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. I’m also a writer and photographer for Her Campus, an online publication written by college students for college students. You can check out my articles . In addition, I’m a mentor in the International Student Mentor Association where I help international students get acclimated to life in America and help them explore Texas. I am also an intern at TexAgs where I work on the morning show and film both the volleyball interviews and Tailgate Talks. I also run a college and lifestyle blog which can be found .I am incredibly excited about this opportunity and I truly appreciate any donation you can make!
Thanks and Gig’em!
