You have an opportunity to make an important difference in the life of a traumatized Syrian Refugee child who has lost EVERYTHING: their homes, their communities, their families, their schools, their friends, their toys and in some cases even their parents.
You can give a gift of love and hope in the form of our familiar friend, the Teddy Bear. It is emergency medicine to a sad, frightened, lonely child. Your gift carries with it a message that you and the world care. More than a toy, a Teddy Bear reduces a child's anxiety and with it the related symptoms of nightmares, bedwetting and aggressive behavior. You gift can provide some short term relief to a child who desperately needs some love.
The Tzedek Council of Temple Emanuel San Francisco, in partnership with the Interfaith Welcome: Bay Area Refugee Support (members listed below) have joined together to raise funds for an important cause, the improvement of the emotional well being of refugee children who have been impacted by the humanitarian crisis unfolding in Syria.
Our goal is to deliver 5,000 teddy bears to Syrian refugee children located in the country of Jordan in early 2017, in coordination with Caring for Children (www.caringforchildren.org), an international non-profit organization located in San Francisco that has organized numerous Teddy Bear Lifts to over 200,000 children in challenging circumstances in war torn areas around the world. Common Bond Institute (www.cbiworld.org) will provide the logistics on the ground in Jordan, to distribute the teddy bear in conjunction with other therapeutic interventions.
You will also be helping a traumatized child regain emotional and psychological equilibrium. EACH $4 gift gives a lonely child a sense of support and comfort. For only $40 you can help 10 traumatized children and for only $80 you can help 20. Hundreds of thousands of traumatized children need your help. Please join with us to reach as many as possible. With your help and the help of your friends we can reach the initial goal to deliver 5000 Teddy Bears to Syrian refugee children living in Jordan.
100% of all donations will go to the delivery of teddy bears to children and is fully tax deductible!
