The Story

Jacob Rivera, 18-year-old son of Ralph and Brenda Rivera, went to be with his Savior on November 18, 2017. In his short life, Jacob was able to develop a personal relationship with Jesus and walk in His purpose. There’s no doubt that Jacob’s light was special. And loving Jesus came from the heart. His life showed us what God can do even in a short time, when one of His children are given the opportunity to know, learn and grow for His glory.  His parents strongly feel that the time he spent at Calvary Christian School, growing from a boy to a young man, greatly enriched his life. Calvary Christian School has established The CCS Memorial Fund. These funds in memory of Jacob, at the request of the Rivera family, are to open the door for God to change the life of another child for His eternal purpose.

Our goal is to raise $60,000 for a student (or students) to receive the life-changing education that Jacob received at Calvary Christian School .

CCS students and parents gave of their time to support the CCS Memorial Fund in memory of Jacob Rivera by bagging groceries at two Shop Rite locations in Aberdeen and Marlboro NJ. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed bagging for Shop Rite patrons and getting to know locals. There were two shifts at each location from 10am – 1:00pm and 1:00pm -4:00pm.  Funds raised from both locations and other donations totaled $3,000 bringing the current fund total to $11,400. Many are looking forward to bagging again Super Bowl Weekend at different locations. Stay tuned for locations and times.
