Puddy came to Labs and More back in May with his six Seinfeld-themed siblings. This litter of seven was only a few weeks old when they were found abandoned in a field in Mexico. A kind woman who caught them and cared for them until they could be transferred to our organization in San Diego. Seinfeld Pups - Elaine, George, Jerry, Kramer, Newman, and Sue Ellen blossomed and enjoyed eating and playing in their foster home, but Puddy was failing to thrive. This young boy was lethargic, tired easily, and wasn't growing as fast as his siblings. Test after test came back with no conclusive results, and Puddy was put on medical hold until we could figure out the root of his illness.
After seeing a specialist and running extensive tests, it has been determined that Puddy has an abnormal blood vessel in his liver. The plan is to repair this blood vessel surgically and this surgery must be done at UC Davis. Having this surgery is Puddy's only chance at living a normal life, but it doesn't come without a huge cost. Even with our rescue discount, Puddy's surgery estimated was quoted at nearly $12,000. This cost is absolutely staggering, but we are committed to giving Puddy his best chance at being healthy. He deserves the same chance at living a normal life, a life like his six siblings got. This is where we need your help.
Puddy's wonderful, dedicated foster family lives in San Diego, but they have agreed to transport Puddy to Davis once the surgery is scheduled and will continue to nurse him through his recovery until he is available for adoption. Labs and More has never before taken on a medical needs dog requiring this level of care, but we know we can rally together to get this one covered. Please consider making a donation of any amount to help us offset the cost of Puddy's care. As a registered 501(c)3, your donation to Labs and More is tax deductible. You can be sure that every penny donated will be used directly to help pay for Puddy's surgery. Puddy’s six siblings have each been adopted to wonderful forever homes and spend time at the beach and being loved in their forever homes – let’s make sure this guy also gets his shot at happily ever after! Hopefully in the coming weeks we will be able to show you an update of a happy puppy who beat the odds because of your help. Thank you for supporting Labs and More and helping us continue to help dogs like Puddy. Taking in these medical needs dogs is at the core of our mission statement, and with your help we will be able to help Puddy – and all the medical needs dogs who will follow after him.
