Help us bring more dogs home for the holidays!
Imagine having to spend the holidays in a lonely cage. As volunteers, we try our best to comfort the dogs, but nothing compares to the warmth of a loving home. It's heartbreaking to walk through the pavilions and see their sad, yet hopeful eyes. Help us save more lives!
There are hundreds of amazing dogs
sitting at Chicago Animal Care and Control awaiting rescue. The biggest challenge for rescue groups is finding foster homes for them, followed by securing funds especially with the canine flu still present at the shelter. Our goal this year is to help as many of the homeless dogs at CACC make it into a rescue program in time for the holidays! Please help us achieve this goal. How can you help?
Our goal this holiday season is to raise funds for local homeward bound rescue partners who pull CACC dogs through New Year's Day. The transfer team
will be sponsoring dogs (based on the amount of money raised) to encourage local rescues to pull. We will put most of our focus on the long-term, forgotten dogs. The money will help rescue groups with vetting or any other needs the dogs may have. Just to give an idea of how much it can cost a rescue group: $300 is a median cost of vetting for a healthy dog. 100% of the donations will go to the local rescues that pull select CACC dogs. How will it work?
We will review the list of rescues that pulled dogs out during the allotted time period. If you pull one of our sponsored dogs and are a homeward bound approved rescue you will receive payment from our fund as soon as possible.
We will have more info soon...
