When a child is diagnosed with autism, cerebral palsy, or another form of physical or speech disability, the child and parents’ lives change forever. The most common and best way to deal with this new reality is for the child to receive therapy services to aide them with their disability. Through physical, occupational, speech, and behavioral therapy, children with special needs can have a significantly higher standard of life. Amazingly, one can begin to see improvements in the child’s life throughout the course of therapy.
Like anything in healthcare, therapy services almost always go through a family’s insurance. In severe cases, some children are recommended 2-3 therapy sessions a week per therapy. Unfortunately, authorized insurance visits usually get exhausted midway through the year, leaving many children without the services they so desperately need. With each visit having an out of pocket cost of close to one hundred dollars, it becomes nearly impossible for families to privately pay for these much needed services. This leaves the child without continuity of care and risks a state of regression erasing any progress that may have been accomplished.
This fundraiser is geared towards helping at least one child with special needs to receive therapy services without interruptions due to a lack of insurance coverage. All money donated will be put into an account at B&V Thera-Pro Associates, Corp., and will be used to sponsor a child’s therapy sessions for the remainder of the year once their insurance-covered visits become exhausted. Through your generosity, at least one child will be allowed to finish a year’s worth of much needed therapies.
