The Story

More than half of Puerto Rico is still without power and does not have reliable access to food or water, suffering tremendous devastation from Hurricane Maria. Over 95% of the infrastructure has collapsed, including basic access to power and water. With torrential rains nearly every day, there has been countless floods, landslides, and washouts to even those homes and structures that were  still standing. Puerto Rico needs our help now!

Immediately after the Hurricane, the UNITED SIKHS Disaster Relief team mobilized in the most remote areas of Puerto Rico. Coordinating efforts with FEMA, Red Cross, and the Coalition of Hope, our team has cooked and delivered thousands of hot meals and delivered aid supplies to the elderly and children. Our team led a successful effort to restore fresh water to over 60,000 people in the remote areas of Utuado and Lares. With three fully operational base camps set up across the island through the partnership of EDP University, we are requesting additional donations and volunteers to continue this effort and let the light of love shine forth to 'Recognize the Human Race as One.'

Together, we have the power and resources to make a difference. And, we can't do it without YOU! Every donation saves a life. Please donate today and become part of the solution.

Marc and Linda's home was completely flooded. They were sleeping on their neighbor's wet, damaged patio. Soon after meeting them, UNITED SIKHS volunteers were able to clear the mud and debris from their home. This allowed them to move back in and have a sense of normalcy again.

There are many other families like Marc and Linda's and everyday, through your support, we are able to reach many more and help them rebuild their lives.  #WeAreOne #RecognizeTheHumanRaceAsOne #ThisIsUS

Three teams of volunteers have been deployed in Puerto Rico! We have received word that there are avenues to host 4 open kitchens (Langar) to provide meals in Ponce, Utuado, and other locations on the island, where food & water are scarce. We are coordinating with leading agencies to make the best use of our supplies & efforts.

Kamaljeet Singh, a ground-team volunteer who has been in Puerto Rico since last week, observed:  “After speaking with residents, I learned that many have been eating roots and living off of the earth to sustain themselves til now. When I heard that even the small children had been suffering for this long, I became quite emotional. This isn’t right. We can really make a difference here.”

Please help share & donate.
