AJS Pancott Cartwheel-a-Thon
Unite for HER: Our mission is to bridge the gap between the medical and wellness communities by funding and delivering complementary therapies that support the physical and emotional needs of those with breast cancer during treatment and beyond. We educate our women and the community about the role of healthy lifestyle choices in the prevention of disease and the promotion of wellness.
BE FEARLESSis a group of young girls that work in their community to raise money for Unite for HER. The girls learn how to be the hope, and motivation, to one whom might have temporarily lost their confidence while battling breast cancer.
"The gentle footprints of kindness that are left behind makes a lifetime of soft imprints in the hearts of others that will never wash away."
Cartwheel A Thon
Hands over head and head over heels. A cartwheel is a stepping stone to a big dream, and accomplishment when completed, an “I Can Do It”. When you're little all you want to do is watch the big girls flip and twist. You watch them and know that one day you're going to be just like them and dream of going to the Olympics. You do your first cartwheel and from that moment on you feel invincible. When you do a cartwheel, you feel free and alive. You do them everywhere because you know you can do it. You feel like anything is possible. The first time it's scary, but after flipping yourself upside down a few times, everything feels ok. You gain courage and start to become fearless, knowing that even if you fall, you can get back up and do it again.
When gymnastics soon becomes a memory and life leads you on another path, take a second out of your day and put your hands over your head, rock back and forth, feel the anticipation, and start feeling that momentum in your leg. Push off using your legs and trust yourself, believe in yourself. Let that moment sink in, laugh, feel free and brave, feel fearless and accomplished. Remember that was how a big dream started and you are who you are from that big dream you once had.
