BRBR was contacted on Wednesday February 17, 2016 by a Vet's Office in Suffolk, VA regarding Diesel Jones. Diesel Jones is a 6 month old male Boxer who had an obstruction. He had been vomiting and had limited bowel movements since Sunday February 14, 2016. The family could not afford the surgery that would save his life. They signed Diesel Jones over to BRBR so that we could step in & provide the medical care he needed.
Diesel underwent a 3 hour surgery Wednesday evening to remove a fabric type material from his intestines. Diesel was weaned from IV meds to oral meds the day after surgery & his vitals are good & he has been resting comfortably. He still has a long recovery ahead of him. We are so grateful that we were able to step in & help Diesel before things became even more serious than they already were. We are thankful to his foster mom for stepping in to foster him & provide a place for him to recover.
Obstruction surgeries are expensive. We are looking at $3,000.00 or more for Diesel's care so far. We hope that he will be able to be transported to his foster mom this weekend. BRBR appreciates everything our supporters do for us! We could not save the Boxers that we are able to save if not for you all!
