We wanted to put up a crowdfunding campaign for our church roof project. I looked at a lot of the crowdfunding sites and picked YouCaring. One of the things I liked about YouCaring is that it was a site specifically for humanitarian causes. The site is very user friendly and there is available online help where questions are answered quickly. The use of WePay seems to work well. Overall we are very happy with the YouCaring platform.
YouCaring was the perfect fit for our family as we needed a fundraising site for the adoption of our daughter. It was so encouraging to see friends, family, and perfect strangers rally around us and take part in our growing family. It truly takes a village and YouCaring made that possible.
YouCaring has to be the only platform that truly does "care" about the donations they allow. Other sites seem to be driven by fees for the sake of revenue but YouCaring isn't that way. Of course, YouCaring needs to get a fee otherwise all this wouldn't be possible but the awesome thing about them is that they allow their donators to set that fee. We cannot recommend you enough. I've posted our experiences with youcaring.com on social media and have also mentioned you all to friends and family. But as a side note, THANK YOU for allowing us to raise funds for our family when we needed it most. Words cannot express our gratitude for your organization!!!
I am using YouCaring to raise funds for my sister and brother in law who lost their home in Kingwood due to a sudden flood which happened at 2 am on Tuesday, August 29. My parents and brother lived in the home and barely escaped. They waded through 5ft of rushing water to get to their neighbors home in the dark. Everything in the home was lost and the home itself was destroyed. The YouCaring site is great and so easy to share. I selected YouCaring because there is no 5% charge like many other sites. I have also seen it used in other successful fundraisers. Asking for help is hard. Asking for financial donations - even harder. Our family works hard and we are independent and self-sufficient. But Harvey caused catastrophic damage and loss. YouCaring has allowed me to share what has happened with friends, family, and co-workers. It has been a great way for those who are far away and want to help - a way to contribute. Mary and Todd did not have flood insurance and they have a denial already from FEMA. Partnering with YouCaring is one way that we can help Mary and Todd Limbaugh to offset their financial loss and to rebuild and restore what has been lost. I am personally grateful for this the site, the format and that this is available. We are Texas Strong and we will rebuild even stronger. Thank you.
When my daughter was 20 weeks gestation, we discovered that she had very little chance at life. What chance she did have would certainly be possible only through multiple major surgeries, frequent hospitalizations- AND we would need to travel 2500 miles away from home for her complex care.
I can't quite describe what it's like. Having absolutely no reserves, and seeing this impossible wall of financial and medical complication towering over you- this giant glaring, deficit between what you have, and what you desperately need, viewing it all through heartache, and the kind of weariness only the broken hearted understand. Feeling the floor drop out beneath you as you watch each careful preparation disappear uselessly into the reality of your current situation, leaving you utterly stranded. Now put a newborn in the middle of this mess, along with a 2 year old, a 5 year old, and two 16 year olds....and that sums up where we were. It's terrifying.
I have often described this experience with my warrior baby as a journey. If that is so, then YouCaring has been our map. To say we were lost is an understatement, our whole world turned upside down on diagnosis day.
I started Sky's page just a few weeks before her birth, and when she was born, into this bright world full of medicine and procedures that both hurt and heal her, I found a soft place to land. Finally, I felt strong enough to face Sky's uncertain future.
They don't tell you how much harder it is to grow and heal (or even function, really) through an experience like this when you are consumed with thoughts of shelter and food, car payments and airline tickets...but YouCaring knows, and they have created this amazing platform that gives you a place to land, and to find your true north, even in the wild and terrible darkness of watching someone you love with every part of you, suffer and fade away.
We are forever grateful. This journey would be impossible in the very literal sense without this site.
If you are lost, look here, they have left a light on.
When I was diagnosed with Cancer, my first thought was "how can I afford this?" I grappled with whether or not to ask for help, and decided that really I had nothing to lose. I had friends that went bankrupt after getting sick and trying to cover medical treatments themselves. I also knew there was a possibility I would be too ill to work full time, which turned out to be especially true in my case. The donations I have received have kept be afloat, and I make sure to try to be gracious and let everyone know how much it helps. Even $20 helps! It also helped me feel less "alone" in my illness. I was able to keep in touch with some of my supporters and their words of encouragement keep me going.
When a friend is really in need and you are thousands of miles away you will look for any way to help. Regular giving sites wouldn't let you run a campaign unless you were in the same country and time was a precious commodity we didn't have. Thanks to YouCaring lives were changed and a family in desperate need was taken care of in an emergency. Thank you for making this possible.
YouCaring made it quick and easy to set up a fundraiser for my dear friend who has cancer. With YouCaring's help we have raised over $10,000 for her treatment. I appreciate that YouCaring is specifically design to support humanitarian causes and does not take a profit.
It was a humbling experience when we first found out that I was ineligible for any form of loan and that I would not be able to increase my earning potential until next year in order to help pay for school. It has been a great lesson in learning to receive and ask for help. YouCaring has provided an immensely supportive platform for me to interact with our network of support while balancing a very full schedule. I appreciate that there aren't additional fees along the way and that funds are available on a regular basis, rather than being gone if a goal is not fully met. Thank you, YouCaring, for creating a supportive and compassionate platform to change people's lives.
YouCaring's platform has been so easy to use! I love that I can post updates and share stories with my supporters. I have been able to reach more people with YouCaring than I could have on my own. I am so thankful for YouCaring and all of my supporters for helping me on my journey to driving independence!
