When I was diagnosed with Cancer, my first thought was "how can I afford this?" I grappled with whether or not to ask for help, and decided that really I had nothing to lose. I had friends that went bankrupt after getting sick and trying to cover medical treatments themselves. I also knew there was a possibility I would be too ill to work full time, which turned out to be especially true in my case. The donations I have received have kept be afloat, and I make sure to try to be gracious and let everyone know how much it helps. Even $20 helps! It also helped me feel less "alone" in my illness. I was able to keep in touch with some of my supporters and their words of encouragement keep me going.
When 60,000+ homes in the Baton Rouge, Louisiana, area flooded, my son and his family had to leave their home, live in a trailer on their front lawn, and deal with having to rebuild and refurnish their entire home. It was suggested to me that our friends would like to be able to help. I found YouCaring to be an easy site to for our friends to use, and for my son to accept the help of his friends.
When we heard that there was a baby coming into the world soon that would need a home we said "YES"!! But we knew that while we had plenty of love to give her we did not have the funds to afford all of the legal fees that would be associated with adopting. Through YouCaring we were able to quickly set up a fundraiser, which allowed us to keep more of the funds than any of the other sites I checked into. We have already hit over 1/3 of our goal in just a few weeks.
YouCaring has been amazing. I never imagined we would get the response we have gotten, and are still getting from donors. We are 1/2 way to our goal in less than a month. YouCaring has provided great service. Everything is set up perfectly, very user friendly and very reasonable percentage fees. They check in with you regularly, make sure all is going well, are available to answer questions and help. Never having done this before, I would highly recommend their services. Thank you, YouCaring.
The support I'm receiving is humbling and beautiful. I am so thankful for YouCaring and my friends who set this up for me, and the community for all the support.
When our neighborhood found itself needing to rehabilitate our entrance sign and facade that was over 30-years old, we turned to a crowdfunding strategy to raise the necessary funds. The YouCaring.com UI (website) was extremely clean and easy-to-navigate and worked extremely well on both mobile and desktop. We were able to promote our crowdfunding site and had nearly 100 neighbors contribute. Not one person was confused on how to donate which speaks to the excellent navigability of the site. Support and integration for offline locations was excellent as well. Most importantly, the business model was excellent in that we could keep all the money raised due to less credit card processing fees! Other solutions tacked on an extra 5+% that YouCaring did not. In the end, that extra money saved allowed us to hit our goal. I would strongly recommend YouCaring.com as the best crowdfunding solution available today!
After learning that our brother-in-law was diagnosed with Renal Cell Carcinoma (RCC), we wanted to do something to help. Knowing that they were facing a long battle that would slowly erode years of savings, we looked to crowd-sourcing and social media to assist. After doing research, we found YouCaring and felt it was a perfect match. The website aligned perfectly with fundraising for cancer victims, was extremely easy to use and administer, and plugged directly into social media. The thing we appreciated the most was that the funds were all going to the family and not being depleted by the company taking large percentages of donations to cover overhead like some of the other more popular crowd-funding sites we reviewed and researched. Thanks to YouCaring, the Smith Family received thousands of dollars in donations that helped cover travel costs and temporary lodging expenses while seeking treatment out of state. It was a great way for my wife and I to feel like we were able to contribute and add value to The Smith's during such a trying and stressful time.
A collective thank you to YouCaring! Compassionate Crowdfunding is what we’re experiencing.
Our sister, Michele Chadbourne, is incredibly brave and such a fighter. After 14 months of intense chemo-therapy treatments and being super stoic about her condition, Michele did something very human (and unusual for her) … she asked for help, knowing her full time job is now about fighting cancer!
To reach her goal, YouCaring’s funding platform & website offered us ease of use, a quick and effective way to spread her story and obtain donations to offset her medical costs and future loss of income, at no up-front cost to her or her organizers. The online support chat and emails were professional, helpful and timely.
In 24 hours, Michele’s Mission – “I’ve Got This” connected with nearly 100 Supporters (donations), was shared over 900 times and helped us reach 20% of our sister’s goal – all in the first day.
We really want to crush Michele’s fundraising goal so she can entirely focus on being well and remove any financial stress as she faces the biggest challenge of her life. So we can truly say, from page construction, to site launch, assistance with logistics and deposits into our sister’s medical account, YouCaring is what it advertises – Compassionate Crowdfunding!
Technology is amazing! YouCaring has given us an opportunity to easily share our story with our friends and family, and they can share it with others with just one click. We've received donations from people we haven't even met, just because of a friend or family connection. It's not only helpful to receive the donations, but also to see how wide our web of support truly is. And YouCaring makes the logistics of sending a thank you email, tracking donations, and transferring funds so easy.
It is such an honour to raise funds for your friend when you know 100% of the money is going to them. We have so much respect for YouCaring for creating a free platform for fundraising that is so professional and functional. Thank you for helping us to save baby Isla's life x
