I’m very excited to announce that Maly Ly has joined YouCaring as Chief Marketing Officer. Maly couldn’t be joining our team at a more crucial time, as we enter a period of rapid growth and expansion. Moving forward, Maly will align our company around a new brand framework and marketing plan, while scaling awareness and revenue. A recipient of the Direct Marketing News’ Hall of Femme Award and a bonafide marketing and brand expert, Maly has over 16 years of experience to bring to the table, having worked across interactive entertainment, consumer products, the Internet, and technology.
A first generation immigrant, Maly’s story is nothing short of remarkable. Her family escaped as asylum refugees from war-torn Cambodia and endured several years of forced labor in the United States (yes, the United States) before being rescued. With a deep-seated sense of gratitude, Maly truly embodies our vision to build a global community of giving.
Early on in her career, Maly managed product development, consumer engagement, brand partnerships, and marketing at renowned interactive entertainment and consumer products companies including Lucasfilm, Nintendo, Ubisoft, and Eidos. She’s brought beloved brands such as Star Wars, Tomb Raider, and Nintendo Wii to millions of people around the world.
Later at Eventbrite, she worked tirelessly to align the company around a new global vision, strategy, and operational plan. As Vice President of Global Marketing at Sojern, Maly orchestrated Sojern’s positioning to the global performance marketing leader in travel, helping drive over $3 billion in bookings for clients including Virgin Airlines, JetBlue, American Express, Marriott, Starwood, and Hertz. Prior to Sojern, she served as the first Head of Marketing at AdRoll, where she quickly established the company as the world’s most widely used retargeting platform and the Inc. 500 #1 fastest growing marketing company.
We can’t wait to see what this next stage holds for us. In the last year alone, we’ve increased our team by a considerable 40 percent, and with the recent acquisition of GiveForward, we find ourselves expanding our fundraising and donor reach even more.
With Maly’s leadership, I have no doubt we’ll continue to take YouCaring to new heights.
