For the last four months, we have been heads down working on a complete redesign for YouCaring. We have grown dramatically since our modest beginnings in 2011, and we now serve millions of people all over the world. Given all the incredible feedback and ideas we have received from our users, we knew it was time for a fresh brand and a fresh design. Perhaps most importantly, we wanted to make it even easier to discover, launch and donate to a free online fundraiser.
On Sunday, April 19, we went live with our new website experience. Every banner across the site now features a photo of one of our fundraising campaigns. We put our fundraising stats right on the homepage to be transparent and to show you the global impact you’re having. Our new logo, a heart with a “Y” in the center, cleanly divides it into three sections, representing our three main constituents: the organizer, the beneficiary and the donor.
We have also produced two new videos that we hope inspire you as much as they do the YouCaring team. The first one is this reel of testimonials from a few of our incredible organizers. The second is an animated video on compassionate crowdfunding and how it works.
Our engineering team invested heavily in some website performance upgrades, so the pages should load nearly twice as fast as before. Site speed makes a big difference in usability, as we aim to make charitable fundraising as frictionless as possible. Meanwhile, the marketing team is continuing to unveil interesting enhancements that make YouCaring and its social channels a place to find great fundraising tips, unique campaign ideas and overall inspiration to make the world a better place.
This is just the beginning. We are working on some major improvements to the payments experience, the setup process for new fundraisers, the fundraiser page itself and the dashboard for managing your fundraiser. We will be rolling these out over the summer, so stay tuned!
Our vision at YouCaring is simple: we want to unleash global grassroots philanthropy on an unprecedented scale. And we want to make it as easy as texting a friend. We’re working hard to prove that giving even a little bit, from your pocket change to your time, can make a huge difference in someone’s life. Kindness and compassion are very powerful ways to drive change.
YouCaring is created for and by its community, so it really matters to us how you feel about the site. We would love any thoughts, feedback or questions you may have with the new experience. Please feel free to Contact Us anytime.
